Tatang's Gourmet Tuyo - An Honest Review

I have tasted a myriad of Gourmet tuyo's in the past.  A bunch of Spanish Sardines too. There's just something beautiful in these types of bottled food that captivates me. It's the taste maybe? They're not just swimming in that oil for no reason. They are loaded with spices which collectively, give the whole "dish" its full-bodied explosion of flavors. But also, trust me, not every Gourmet Tuyo out there is created equal. :-)

Especially when we are talking about "taste". 

 

I gave this one a try because I've been reading really good reviews about this product. People are almost raving for it. That got me really curious. I've been seeing it on my news feed and the power of social media is so strong. Highlighting your every weakness, you can't escape. Lol. I tried this not just because I love the owner or I wanted to support her but because Foodie as I am? I really. Need. To. Get. My. Hands. On. That. Bottle. It's inevitable! 

When I tasted this one, Man I never looked back. I literally stopped and just appreciated that moment when I first tasted Tatang's Gourmet Tuyo. I was like WOW. Time stopped as I just swirled and chew that "tuyo-shreds" (dried fish flakes) in my mouth. And I thought to myself, It's amazing how all the food components played their parts really well contributing to the wholeness of the dish. 

I can taste that garlic and I know there's lots of it, but surprisingly, it doesn't overpower everything. You won't get fed up with the taste of the oil. You can even toss it to pasta. The tuyo has been shredded and it's almost impossible to find some fish bones in there, making you less worry that you will ingest some fish bones and it may get stuck in your throat. Oh, the stress of that! This one, just top it on your newly cooked rice, shove this in your mouth, munch and just have that experience. 

I love the spicy variant! It has a delicate kick but it's delicious! It's the type that doesn't sting. And just blends well with everything. The garlic and the chili are also soft but so good. You don't realize you're already eating them until you taste that burst of flavors inside your mouth. 

One thing that I observed and maybe one reason why Tatang's Gourmet Tuyo is a hit? I think it's because there's a layer of flavors happening? I don't know but whenever I eat this food? It just tastes better and better at every bite it's crazy!! Plus there are some seconds where you can taste that garlic and some seconds you can taste the chili or just that tang and saltiness which makes it very attractive to the rice-eating people of the Philippines. It's not some monotonous taste that we adults tend to get tired of easily. It's so good, it's impossible to forget Tatang's Gourmet Tuyo. Now I understand why people are buying this product again and again and again. 

It's because we can feel the love that the people from Tatang's Gourmet Tuyo have put into the dish. It's undeniable. Those flavors are so unique. There's no other answer!

It's just irresistible! It actually makes me happy. 

This food brings you taste and experience. It will bring you good vibes. 

And that! my friend, is beautiful and a little speck of what we call a glimpse of "life".
