Brain-Boosting Blueberry-Banana Smoothie

Shocks I forgot to put some berries on top for the photo huehue

I happen to stumble upon a book that talks about the degenerative diseases connected with brain health. My eyes were opened to the topic and so I read more about it and try to apply it to our food and lifestyle as much as I can.

The book presented several kinds of food in a very scientific way which I really tried comprehending without my brain bleeding lol. One of these superfoods is blueberries.

Blueberries are rich in antioxidants, flavonoids, potassium etcetera that boost memory and concentration. It also offers a myriad of health benefits not just for the brain but of course to the whole body as well. You can search for it on google and be amazed and maybe try incorporating it into your daily eating habits.

When I first made my blueberry smoothie, the recipe below is how I exactly made it. With the same ingredients which made it yummy, healthy, and rich. I also made some today as I wasn't feeling like eating rice or eating a heavy meal tonight. Hope you like it as much as I did!

INGREDIENTS:

Blueberries

Ripe bananas

Oats

Milk (any milk of your preference)

Ice cubes

Stevia or Erythritol (if the bananas are not sweet enough to your liking)

PROCEDURE:

1.  Place the bananas, blueberries in the blender and add a splash of milk. Blend until well incorporated. I love pureeing the fruits first when making smoothies, that way it won't be messy.

2. Add the ice cubes and blend until you cannot see and feel that there's no big chunk of solid ice is in the mixture

3. Add a bit of oats and blend again until well mixed.

4. Taste and if it's not sweet enough for you, you can add a banana or you can add some stevia. The sucralose and fructose from the fruits are enough sweeteners so personally, I do not like using sugar.

There you have it, a very simple, yummy, healthy yet very delicious smoothie! This will be our dinner for tonight as it is also very filling because of the oats. Or maybe I'm just lazy and still tired to whip something in the kitchen lol!

Looks and tastes really good!

So yeah, see you on another recipe next time, Happy Holidays everybody!
