6 Easy Steps on How to Make Mac and Cheese!

On some nights and days, as Filipinos, do you ever feel like not having rice to eat for dinner and you just wanna gobble something that's very easy to prepare without that much effort? That's totally normal, I feel it too sometimes.

Or maybe you're a mom and you're thinking of different food to feed your toddler and you haven't made this before for them so why not try? Cause I heard kids love this sooo much!

I just finished doing my workout when I asked my husband, Yow babe, do you want some Mac and Cheese for dinner?' of course he has no choice but to eat what I arranged in our little kitchen LOL.

So without further ado, here's my go-to actual recipe for this "kids-approved", super easy-to-prepare, Mac and Cheese.

INGREDIENTS:

Macaroni (I used salad macaroni. I couldn't find the elbow macaroni and the store's about to close lol)
Milk
Water
Cheddar Cheese (grated)
Salt
Pepper
Bacon (optional)

PROCEDURE:

1. Place your pot or wok on the stove and heat up the milk under medium fire. Continue stirring as too much heat will curdle the milk. You may need to adjust the heat if it's too hot and to avoid scraping the bottom of your pot for congealed milk. Bring the milk to a boil.

2. When the milk boils, put the macaroni and make sure that every piece is covered in milk. Lower the heat. Continue stirring the macaroni and milk together seconds apart, so as to avoid milk curdling and time to cook your macaroni too.

3. Season with salt and pepper. Be careful with putting too much salt because the Cheddar Cheese that we will add later has a considerable amount of saltiness too.

4. If the milk has dried up but the macaroni is still hard, you can add water little by little, it will liquefy the milk again and cook your macaroni.

5. Once the macaroni's cooked, the consistency is still a bit "liquidy", you may now add your Cheddar Cheese. Continue stirring until the cheese is incorporated into our mixture and has now melted. Remove from the heat.

6. Place some on a bowl or plate and you can mix or garnish it with crispy-fried bacon or ham (really up to you)  I added this because as adults, we tend to go "Umay" (gets fed-up easily) with food that has the same consistency all throughout. Our palates are looking for a surprise with every munch and bite. But with kids? They seem to love this and according to my research, they tend to like salty foods as compared to full-grown adults.

That's it! I hope you enjoyed this recipe. Enjoy that Mac and Cheese for supper!
